Chances are, you might have some pretty basic, black and white renderings of your floor plans and elevations. But is that truly enough to display your stunning home designs? Today’s home buyers crave new technology and shopping experiences; and according to a  Bokka Group study, about 85% of home buyers today say that high quality renderings and photo galleries are influential in their purchase decisions. We’ve come a long way in the art of home renderings and they are almost unrecognizable compared to their predecessors.  Check out some examples of how far the building industry has come below!

                                     Today’s BDX Photo-Real Rendering

Renderings are often the first impression a buyer will see from your homes and we’ve made setting the buying mood simple. In addition to standard color renderings, you can add a third dimension like watercolor effects or choose between day and night lighting. And if you’re holding back because of price, it’s time to take another look at your options — technology and expertise have come a long way in recent years. Not only has the quality of renderings improved significantly, but prices have also come down making photo-real options more affordable than ever. Our renderings are specifically tailored to your individual needs. A typical 3D industry standard rendering offers a clear and unique perspective of your home or community and includes:

  • Near photo-realism
  • Regionally compliant landscaping
  • Customizable backgrounds
  • Night/day options
  • Quick-turnaround delivery

BDX is an industry leader in the art of renderings and even has recently partnered with Payne Family Homes in the St. Jude’s Hospital Dream Home Fundraiser. In fact, we are excited that we were able to donate one of recent renderings of the dream home to become the poster for St. Jude’s Hospital’s Dream Home to help sell advance tickets. Happy Earth Day from everyone here at BDX! Today is an important day to raise awareness about environmentally-friendly home innovations; and it’s no secret that home buyers are going green. Nearly 35% of all construction presently falls into the green building category.

The green consumer is changing with buyers no longer just being motivated by saving the environment, but they also are going green to save money, show their patriotism, and improve their overall health.

The green movement is also proving to be no passing fad. In fact, according to a report from the U.S. Green Building Council, by 2016 it is estimated that half of the commercial and institutional buildings will be green structures. That’s why it’s vital for builders to market their green features effectively.

In order to keep up with the movement, BDX offers many different resources to help builders market their energy- efficient features. Here are just a few of the ways that BDX can help you as builders turn your green features into green:

Last year, recognizing the need to promote the advantages of newly-built homes to home shoppers, BDX and our parent company, BHI, partnered up with one of Austin’s most prestigious advertising firms, GSD&M to create the “Start Fresh. Buy New.” campaign. This initiative was a first-of-its-kind marketing and promotional campaign illustrating the benefits of new home ownership.

Last year, the campaign generated over 1 million website visits, thousands of video views, millions of advertising impressions and earned media coverage in over 360 publications. And now, the campaign has taken the Gold at the building industry’s Nationals awards.

For over 30 years, the Nationals have been recognizing superior sales and marketing achievement in the home building industry. The Nationals is the largest awards program for our industry and BDX was proud to see that our “Start Fresh. Buy New.” initiative won a Gold Award for best marketing promotion/campaign by a supplier/associate.

The campaign includes numerous viral videos, witty digital advertisements, an interactive webpage as well as national and localized home buyer Intel Packets for builders — all helping promote the advantages of new homes. Click here to read more.

As  BDX’s own Melissa Morman stated during her award acceptance speech, “this really is a win for the entire building industry.”

Homes by WestBay is making waves in the sunshine state as they currently market 10 communities throughout Tampa Bay; with more to come in 2014.

Like most builders, Janice Snow’s biggest challenge as a marketer is converting online leads into model home visits (sound familiar?) and delivering a strong ROI on her marketing plan. As our conversation progressed, it became clear that while BDX products certainly play an important role in her online marketing strategy, it is her “BDX team” that she values most.

“If I was going to give one piece of advice to another builder it would be to know who your key contacts are at BDX and leverage their expertise. I stay in touch with Chris, Crystal or Jamie and know I can count on them when I have a question.”
—Janice Snow, Marketing Manager, Homes by WestBay

“I look to BDX as an extension of my marketing team,” said Janice Snow, Marketing Manager at Homes by WestBay. “If I was going to give one piece of advice to another builder it would be to know who your key contacts are at BDX and leverage their expertise. I stay in touch with Chris, Crystal or Jamie and know I can count on them when I have a question.”

To help drive interest in their communities and generate leads for their sales team, Homes by WestBay currently lists all of their communities on the BDX network of over 300 real estate sites including NewHomeSource.com, MoveNewHomes.com, and realtor.com®. They also run banner advertising across the BDX network to complement their online listings.

“I recently reached out for some advice on our banner advertising campaign,” Ms. Snow continued. “BDX provided a different perspective on our copy and design and when we updated the creative for the campaign based on their advice, we saw click through rates improve.”

It is this kind of personal service that makes BDX’s solutions so valuable for builders.
