With the average smartphone user spending nearly 677 minutes a month using mobile applications, it is clear how much we rely on them in our everyday lives. And with nearly 50 percent of new home shoppers considering new construction, now new homes are searchable right on the realtor.com® mobile application for both iOS and Android platforms.

RealtorAppScreenshotSteve Berkowitz, Move’s chief executive officer says “The addition of fresh and accurate new home listings on the realtor.com® mobile applications gives buyers the competitive edge to identify and buy their perfect new home.”

Realtor.com® app users now have access to an astonishing 60,000 new home plans from approximately 7,500 new home communities sourced from BDX right at their fingertips. When searching for listings, home buyers can filter results by “new homes only,” or view new home plans, which is identified by a new home plan badge found alongside resale listings on main search results pages within the application.

BDX’s Melissa Morman stated that “this is an important milestone for our builders as we continue to position new home communities in the general real estate marketplace.”realtor.com ad

“Technology, paired with accurate data, drives informed home-buying decisions. Having the right tools, such as access to new home plans on the realtor.com® mobile applications, is crucial to finding the right home,” Berkowitz said. “Buyers who take their search a step further and educate themselves about what’s going on in their local market can hone in on their ideal home more quickly and negotiate with confidence.”

Last year, recognizing the need to promote the advantages of newly-built homes to home shoppers, BDX and our parent company, BHI, partnered up with one of Austin’s most prestigious advertising firms, GSD&M to create the “Start Fresh. Buy New.” campaign. This initiative was a first-of-its-kind marketing and promotional campaign illustrating the benefits of new home ownership.

Last year, the campaign generated over 1 million website visits, thousands of video views, millions of advertising impressions and earned media coverage in over 360 publications. And now, the campaign has taken the Gold at the building industry’s Nationals awards.

For over 30 years, the Nationals have been recognizing superior sales and marketing achievement in the home building industry. The Nationals is the largest awards program for our industry and BDX was proud to see that our “Start Fresh. Buy New.” initiative won a Gold Award for best marketing promotion/campaign by a supplier/associate.

The campaign includes numerous viral videos, witty digital advertisements, an interactive webpage as well as national and localized home buyer Intel Packets for builders — all helping promote the advantages of new homes. Click here to read more.

As  BDX’s own Melissa Morman stated during her award acceptance speech, “this really is a win for the entire building industry.”

She-Conomy: What Women Want – Presented by Melissa Morman, BDX, VP of Client Experience

Oct. 25 12:55 pm-2:35 pm

We have always valued the importance of the woman in the home buying decision, but now it’s more important than ever to understand what a woman wants.  Today’s female buyer is very different than previous generations and we need to understand these differences and modify our marketing accordingly. If not, we run the risk of not appealing to the female buyer, or even worse, truly alienating her.  During this session Melissa will discuss: biological differences between men and women; personality differences and how that influences purchasing decisions; how women think/react/experience the world differently; what appeals to the female buyer, and what turns her off; best practices from the homebuilding industry and beyond; how female buyers approach ‘green’ differently than males.
